New Song :: Life Between Sundays

This is a new song that I wrote for Hill Country’s first sermon series. We are opening and closing the service with it this Sunday. Both the series and the song are taken from James 2:14:

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?”

Here are the lyrics:

Verse 1
He didn’t come to hear us sing
He didn’t come for our offerings
Jesus came to give us life
Life that’s lived with all our might

Chorus
Every day that we’ve been given, in this life
Is a grace from God above
Purchased by the Son from heaven, with his life
And gifted to us out of love
He deserves more than one day
Faith is more than what we say
It’s life between Sundays

Verse 2
He didn’t come for poverty
He didn’t die for self-esteem
He came to make us rich in faith
Faith that reaches everyday

Bridge
What good is it to believe
If it’s only in your head
If it doesn’t change the way you live
Faith apart from works is dead
